Weather

One of the best aspects of the Destin climate is that you can visit anytime and enjoy a great experience with weather that’s likely better than the weather at home. Golfers typically love the ideal golf weather of spring; whereas, families look forward to enjoying Destin’s summer weather. Other visitors prefer the less-crowded fall season filled with mild and beautiful days.

Destin enjoys an average of 226 sunny days each year. The highest monthly average temperature for Destin is July at 89 degrees, with the lowest monthly average temperature being in January at 45 degrees.

How to Get Here

Getting here is easy. Leaving is the hard part.

Destin, FL is located on the Florida panhandle, in between Pensacola to the west, and Panama City to the east.

Flying

For air travelers, there are two airports offering affordable air service options. Destin-Fort Walton Beach Regional Airport (VPS) is located just a short drive from Destin, FL. Another option is the Pensacola International Airport (PNS), located approximately 50 miles from Destin, FL. Each airport offers over 50 non-stop flights daily on major airlines to hubs and cities nationwide.

Driving

If you’re driving, Destin is just south of Florida Interstate 10. Coming from the east, you’ll take Exit 70 – Niceville/Eglin Air Force Base/Hurlburt, or Exit 56 – Crestview/Niceville if coming from the west. Either way, follow the signs to Niceville, and cross the Mid Bay toll bridge. This will bring you to Emerald Coast Parkway, where you’ll turn right to downtown Destin.
