Golfers typically love the ideal golf weather of spring; whereas, families look forward to enjoying summer weather in Gulf Shores. Other visitors prefer the less-crowded fall season filled with mild and beautiful days.

Gulf Shores enjoys an average of 223 sunny days each year. The Gulf breeze cools us some in the summertime, and the Gulf waters help keep us warmer in the wintertime. The highest monthly average temperature for Gulf Shores is in July at 91 degrees, with the lowest monthly average temperature being in January at 40 degrees.

Gulf Shores, AL is located on the Gulf of Mexico’s Alabama Panhandle. Whether you decide to drive or fly, traveling to the Gulf Shores area is easy.

Flying

For air travelers, there are two airports offering affordable air service options. Pensacola International Airport (PNS) is convenient, centrally located, and is just a 40 mile drive from Gulf Shores. Another option is the Mobile Regional Airport (MOB), located approximately 70 miles from Gulf Shores. Each airport offers over 30 non-stop flights daily on major airlines to hubs and cities nationwide.

Driving

Once you hop off I-65, I-10 exit 49 or Highway 98, the Gulf Shores Parkway and Beach Express make it easy as key-lime pie to cruise straight down to the beach.
