30A Weather

One of the best aspects of South Walton County's climate is that you can book vacation rentals along the 30A Beaches anytime and enjoy a great experience with weather that's likely better than the weather at home. Golfers typically love the ideal golf weather of spring; whereas, families look forward to enjoying warm summer weather. Other visitors prefer the less-crowded fall season filled with mild and beautiful days.

The 30A area enjoys an average of 229 sunny days each year. The highest monthly average temperature for the 30A Beaches is in July at 89 degrees, with the lowest monthly average temperature being in January at 45 degrees.

How to Get To 30A Beaches

Getting here is easy. Leaving is the hard part.

The 30A Beaches are located on the Florida panhandle, in between Destin to the west, and Panama City to the east.

Flying

For air travelers, there are three airports offering affordable air service options. Destin-Fort Walton Beach Regional Airport (VPS) and the Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport in Panama City (ECP) are both located approximately 30 miles from South Walton Beaches. Pensacola International Airport (PNS) is located approximately 50 miles from 30A Beaches. Each airport offers from 20 to 50 non-stop flights daily on major airlines to hubs and cities nationwide.

Driving

If you're driving to the 30A beach rentals, you'll find Highway 30A just south of Florida Interstate 10.

To visit the Highway 30A area, use Exit 85 – Defuniak Springs/Freeport. Head south on Hwy 331, cross the bay, and continue to Hwy 98. Turn left, and after 1.5 miles, turn right onto Co Rd 283. This will bring you right into Grayton Beach and Highway 30A, which can be followed south to other 30A destinations such as Rosemary Beach, Blue Mountain Beach, and Seagrove Beach.

To visit the 30A destinations from Miramar Beach to Santa Rosa Beach, coming from the east, you'll take Exit 70 – Niceville/Eglin Air Force Base/Hurlburt, or Exit 56 – Crestview/Niceville if coming from the west. Either way, follow the signs to Niceville, and cross the Mid Bay toll bridge. This will bring you to Emerald Coast Parkway, where you'll turn left for Miramar Beach.
